TRANSITION TO SCHOOL

We encourage our 4 year old children to participate in our Transition to School programme, where we visit the new entrant class in Royal Road School.  This is a rich experience where the children can experience a school class environment before they start school, often seeing their friends who have already begun school. 

We also attend school assembly every Friday morning, singing the National Anthem and experiencing the weekly awards that are shared.  We participate within whole school celebrations, such as Book Week and Athletics Day, and also when there are special visitors.

These unique opportunities support our children and whanau experiencing a smooth transition into the school environment when they leave.
