Board of Trustees Meeting – April 2024
Tēnā koutou katoa to our RRS community.
We held our second Board of Trustees meeting for 2024 on April 8. The senior leadership team has been busy hosting a visit by the Education Review Office (ERO). ERO visits all schools in Aotearoa New Zealand every three to five years to monitor their effectiveness and to offer advice on implementing improvements, where needed. We look forward to reading their feedback and reflections when the report is available. During our meeting, we heard about curriculum initiatives that are underway and reviewed a couple of school policies. We also adopted a new policy on mobile phone use. You can read this policy on the Royal Road School website under ‘At our School’ then ‘Board of Trustees’. We discussed the Health and Safety Hazards Register from the last 12 months. It was encouraging to see so many of them have been minimised or eliminated. Our thanks goes to Nick Frakes, our hard working caretaker, for his tireless efforts in maintaining the high standards of our school buildings and grounds. You should have all received nomination forms in your letter boxes over the holidays for our School Board Parent By-election. If you would like to serve your child’s school community by being on the Board of Trustees, please consider standing. The completed nomination forms need to be returned to the school office by May 10th.
